BURST AND GRAY MEDIA GROUP ANNOUNCE NEW COMMERCIAL AGREEMENT. BURST TO POWER GRAY’S UGC EFFORTS ACROSS ALL OF ITS LOCAL STATIONS.

BOSTON, October 22, 2019 – Burst, the leading technology platform dedicated to helping broadcasters acquire, manage and distribute user-generated content (UGC), today announced that it has come to an agreement to license its technology to Gray Media Group and its 98 local news stations. Since joining the Burst platform last month, Gray has already realized significant newsroom efficiencies, generated tens of thousands of unique, right-cleared UGC and generated in-creased engagement on its digital and mobile platforms.

“Burst has helped us take our user engagement to new levels,” said Brandon Omohundro, Sr. Director, Digital Operations. “The ability for users to quickly and easily provide content gives them the opportunity to engage with newscasts and digital news content more than ever before.”

Gray (and its recently acquired Raycom stations) within days of turning on the Burst platform were able to immediately engage their audience in new and unique ways. Burst has developed a proprietary technology and workflow that enables the local Gray stations to acquire, curate and distribute this content with speed and precision. Gray then packages up the curated content into valuable, brand-safe advertising inventory across its digital platforms.

“We are amazed at how quickly the Gray stations were able to use the Burst platform to engage its audience. As Gray takes full advantage of the Burst platform, its network of local stations have un-covered a rich new source of rights-controlled content that not only helps boost viewer engagement but is easily monetized via the 100% new advertising inventory it generates” said Paul Levy, Founder and COO, Burst.
